A GAMIFICATION MOBILE APPLICATION
Expanding on the Vegan Society’s current newsletter program for new joiners wishing to try the vegan diet and lifestyle, we developed an interactive application for a 30 day vegan challenge program. Full of recipes, tips, useful information and interesting facts, the app adds gamification to the user’s 30 day vegan challenge through timed release of content as the user progresses, encouraging engagement and user persistence.
We built this mobile app using hybrid technologies to allow for cost effective support on both iOS and Android devices. Using the Ionic Framework and a PHP Laravel backend system the Vegan team can easily control the app’s content via a CMS, allowing for future proofing, new content and user reporting and push notifications.

The Vegan Society wanted to evolve their existing newsletter programme into something more engaging for new joiners exploring a plant based lifestyle. We worked with their team to create an interactive mobile experience built around a 30 day vegan challenge, designed to support users with guidance, motivation and a sense of progression throughout the journey. The app delivers recipes, daily tips, nutritional advice and practical information, all wrapped in a friendly, encouraging tone.
To keep users engaged, we introduced a light gamification layer. Content is unlocked gradually as the user progresses, creating a sense of momentum and rewarding daily interaction. Timed releases, progress tracking and subtle prompts help guide users through the challenge and improve completion rates without overwhelming them.
The app was built using hybrid mobile technologies to deliver a cost effective solution for both iOS and Android. Using the Ionic Framework together with a custom PHP Laravel backend, we provided the Vegan Society with a flexible CMS where their team can manage content, update the challenge, publish new material and access reporting. Push notifications and remote configuration allow them to keep the experience fresh and relevant without redeploying the app.
The result is a modern, supportive companion app that helps users build confidence in a new lifestyle through structure, encouragement and accessible, well timed content.
